In a dramatic turn of events at Pench National Park in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni, a three-year-old tigress and a wild boar found themselves in an unlikely predicament. During a chase, both animals accidentally fell into a well in Pipariya Harduli village of Jikurai forest range. The incident was discovered Tuesday morning by villagers collecting water.
According to Deputy Director Rajnish Kumar Singh, the tigress had been pursuing the boar when their chase ended abruptly in the well. Stranded together, predator and prey spent hours attempting to escape, often resting against each other.
A four-hour rescue operation ensued. A cot was lowered into the well, and the tigress willingly sat on it. A hydraulic crane then lowered a cage, allowing for the safe capture and removal of the tigress. The boar was rescued using the same method. Approximately 60 rescuers participated in the successful operation.
