“Tera Baap…”: M Kharge’s Outburst In Rajya Sabha As BJP MP Interrupts Him

A heated exchange erupted in the Rajya Sabha between Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and BJP MP Neeraj Shekhar. The incident occurred during a debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address, when Shekhar interrupted Kharge’s speech on the falling rupee.

Kharge, visibly angered, reminded Shekhar of his father, former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, stating their past acquaintance. He sharply told Shekhar to sit down, using strong language in Hindi, referencing his personal relationship with the late Prime Minister.

This outburst led to an uproar, prompting Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to intervene, urging calm and emphasizing the immeasurable respect for Chandra Shekhar. Dhankhar requested Kharge to retract his remarks referencing the former Prime Minister.

Both Kharge and Shekhar later clarified their mutual respect, with Kharge highlighting their shared experience of being arrested together. However, the Chairman pressed Kharge to withdraw his comments about Shekhar’s father.

Kharge defended himself, stating that insulting others is not his nature. He then accused the BJP of previously insulting former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, highlighting the party’s history of such behavior.

Neeraj Shekhar, a former Samajwadi Party MP who joined the BJP in 2019, is the son of Chandra Shekhar, a prominent socialist leader and former Prime Minister of India.
